Sarah Silverman was born on December 1, 1970 in Bedford, New Hampshire. In 1988, she began her first stand-up comedy work at Stitches in Boston. Soon after, Sarah Silverman dropped out of New York University to join comedy gigs around the country, which led to her being discovered by a ‘Saturday Night Live’ talent scout while performing on stage. In 1993 to 1994, Sarah Silverman became a writer and regular cast member of SNL.

In 1995, Sarah Silverman was featured in HBO’s sketch show “Mr. Show with Bob and David,” followed by a recurring role on “The Larry Sanders Show” in 1996. The following year, she made a guest appearance in several episodes of “Seinfeld” and made her debut movie in “Who’s the Caboose?” In 1998, Sarah Silverman appeared in Warren Beatty’s political satire “Bullworth” and landed a supporting role in the hit comedy “There’s Something about Mary.”

Sarah Silverman continued to land minor (but memorable) roles in comedy movies such as “The Bachelor,” and “School of Rock.” She also became a household name on comedy talk shows and sitcoms like “Late Night with Conan O’Brien,” “Greg the Bunny,” and “Crank Yankers.” In 2003, Sarah Silverman toured the country for a one-woman live show entitled “Jesus is Magic,” a show which she adapted into film with the same name in 2005. Also in 2005, Sarah appeared in the movie version of Broadway’s “Rent.” The following year, she was featured in the movie “I Want Someone to Eat Cheese With.”

In 2007, Sarah Silverman guest starred in the hit series “Monk” and earned an Emmy nomination for her appearance. That same year, she hosted the MTV Movie Awards and launched her own Comedy Central show entitled “The Sarah Silverman Program.” In 2009, she earned a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for ‘Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.’

Sarah Silverman has dated Colin Quinn, Dave Attell and Tom Gianas. Her most popular companion was comedian and talk show host Jimmy Kimmel, whom she met in 2001 after participating in Comedy Central’s Friar’s Club Roast of Hugh Hefner. The couple broke up in July 2008, briefly reunited a few months later, but split again in March 2009.
